Wetzlar is known as the capital of the optical industry in Germany. In nowerdays the chinese and japanese optical industry is leading in the world. But some of Germans well known factories are still producing very fine cameras and lenses. As mentioned in another posting I own a LEICA SL 2 and I am very satisfied with results of the camera and lenses.

To learn a better handling I decided to visit a work shop with the Leica Akademie in Wetzlar. Here Oliver Richter showed us in practice how to handel the Leica SL2 in the technical way but also to compose photos and work with Adobe Lightroom. This work shop gave me very important input for my further work with the camera. The Leica Akademie also offers work shops for other Leica camera models. Even photo excursions are offered by the Leica Akademie.

Now to the photo work. The location where we are working for the practical handling with the Leica SL2 was the Ernst-Leitz-Park. Here you will find some modern buildings. This buildings and photo installations give you the opportunity to practice architecture photography. The photo on top is panorama picture reorded with the Leica SL2 using a tripod.

The following photos are single shots made in the Ernst-Leitz-Park:

Photolocations

Even Wetzlar is a town with ancient picturesque houses located on hills. And as shown above: In the Ernst-Leitz-Park you will find many motives to take a picture.

Interested in photography you should visit the Leitz Museum presenting exchanging photo exhibitions. Even the Leica Shop is worth a visit.
