Cologne Historic Center

In November 2020 a new Corona Shutdown started in Cologne. I decided to use this situation for taking some architecture photos without the usual crowd.

As you can see on the picture above the restaurants where closed and even when the wheather was fine no peoble on the street. I took this moment take take some photos in and around the historic town of cologne and near the the waterside of the rhine.

First some Photos I took at the Historic Town:

In one of the next days I decided to do a photo session at the “Rheinauhafen”. Cologne has allways had his habour near the center of tje old center. Even the romans used the now called “Rheinauhafen”. During the medieval times the habour was a hot spot for goods infrastructure and distribution in germany. Cologne was member of the “Hanse” a medieval international acting group of merchants.

In the 70th years of the last century the decision was taken that this place will now be a hot spot for leisure, commercial activities, and working space. The “Schokoladenmuseum” and “Olympia Museum” where founded. Here you will find also a couple of new modern buildimgs like the “Kranhäusern“, designed for example from Alfons Linster , Hadi Teherani. The last building of the “Kranhäuser” was finished in 2010.

Here are my photo results from this day:

Photolocations in Cologne

Cologne has a wide varity of possible photolocations. You can search for motives in the nature also in the town. Let me mention the “Flora” a Botanical Garden near the center of cologne. On the opposide you will find the Zoo.

Also near the waterfront of the rhine you will find a lot of motives. If you are on a ship you have the opportunity to photograph into the city with a special view.

Even in the buildings like churches you will find interesting images to take with you.

Please don’t hesitate to ask me if you are looking for a special place.
